Effect of compound probiotics on laying performance,egg quality,serum parameters and intestinal morphology of laying hens

Abstract:The study was conducted to investigate the effect of compound probiotics, composed of Clostridium butyricum and Enterococcus faecium on laying performance, egg quality, serum biochemical index and intestinal morphology of laying hens during peak laying period. A total of 400 healthy 40-week-old Hy-line brown layers with similar egg production rate and body weight were randomly divided into four groups, with five replicates in each group and 20 chickens in each replicate. The control group was fed with a basal diet, the antibiotic group was supplemented with200 g/t chlortetracycline in basal diet, group 1 and group 2 hens were fed with 50 g/t and 100 g/t of compound microorganism preparation in the basal diet, respectively. The experimental period was 42 d. The results showed that compared with the control group, the addition of compound microorganism preparation significantly increased the laying rate(P<0.05), reduced the ratio of feed to egg and broken egg rate significantly(P<0.05). Compared with control group,adding 100 g/t probiotics to the diet significantly increased the specific gravity, Huff units, fat content and crude protein content of egg yolk(P<0.05), and reduced the yolk moisture significantly(P<0.05). Compared with the control group,adding 100 g/t probiotics to diet increased the serum total protein and globulin content of laying hens significantly(P<0.05), and reduced the serum uric acid content significantly(P<0.05). Compared with control group, the addition of compound microorganism preparation significantly increased the villus height and villus height/crypt depth in jejunum,ileum and cecum of laying hens(P<0.05). The experiment indicates that dietary compound microorganism preparation composed of Clostridium butyricum and Enterococcus faecium can significantly improve laying performance, egg quality and improve serum biochemical indicators and intestinal villi structure.
