研究藏药绿萝花抗氧化作用,为临床合理用药和开发利用提供科学依据。采用注射D-gal法模拟小鼠衰老进程,并将实验动物分成空白组、模型组、绿萝花高剂量组(2 g/m L)、绿萝花中剂量组(1 g/m L)、绿萝花低剂量组(0.5 g/m L),分别在实验的第0、7、14、21、28、35、42天,以小鼠血清SOD、MDA为动态指标及42 d大脑、心、肝组织SOD、MDA、T-AOC、GSH-Px、MAO、CAT为检测指标,研究绿萝花的抗氧化作用。结果表明,连续注射D-gal 14-42 d,模型小鼠血清SOD活性下降、MDA含量上升;连续同时服用绿萝花口服液14 d后小鼠血清SOD活力显著提高,以低剂量绿萝花作用最显著;连续服用绿萝花14 d后小鼠血清MDA含量显著降低,以高剂量绿萝作用最显著;连续服用绿萝花42 d后,小鼠血清T-AOC活力升高,大脑、心、肝SOD、T-AOC、CAT、GSH-Px活性上升,MAO活性下降,MDA含量下降。结果表明,连续口服绿萝花能改善由注射D-gal引起的小鼠抗氧化指标的异常,提示绿萝花可能具有抗机体衰老作用。  相似文献

通过注射链脲佐菌素(STZ)诱导建立与人类Ⅱ型糖尿病(NIDDM)相似的昆明鼠和C57鼠模型,比较两种鼠建模剂量和成模率的差异。将昆明鼠和C57小鼠随机分为正常对照组(A)及低、中、高剂量(每天50、70、90 mg/kg)用药组(B)(n=10)。正常对照组(A)饲喂普通饲料,用药组(B)饲喂高脂高糖饲料;第4周开始,A组腹腔注射柠檬酸缓冲液,B组腹腔注射STZ,连续4 d。测定给药前和给药后3、7、15 d空腹血糖和体重,观察小鼠饮食、饮水和排尿情况。给药前空腹血糖A、B组间无显著性差异(P0.05);昆明鼠用药3 d后中、高剂量组均升高并达到建模标准,C57鼠用药7 d后中、高剂量组达到建模标准。两种小鼠用药3 d后各组体重均减低,并与对照组间有极显著差异(P0.01)。C57鼠,STZ注射剂量越高,体重减轻幅度越大;并且自造模成功后,各用药组体重均出现逐日降低的趋势。诱导建立NIDDM模型的适宜STZ剂量昆明鼠为每天50 mg/kg和70 mg/kg,并以后者为佳;C57鼠为每天70 mg/kg。  相似文献

本试验采用气相色谱方法检测小鼠血清中脂肪酸的含量,研究高脂诱导对小鼠血清中脂肪酸含量的影响。实验小鼠随机分为野生型对照组(WT-ND)和野生型高脂组(WT-HFD),每组10只,采用高脂饲料连续饲喂6周后眼球采血收集血液,分离血清,皂化衍生后采用气相色谱检测脂肪酸含量。结果显示,与对照组相比,饲喂高脂后小鼠血清中C12∶0、C14∶0、C15∶0、C16∶0、C18∶0、C18∶1、C18∶2、C18∶3、C20∶1、C20∶2和C20∶3的含量呈上升趋势,而C17∶0、C20∶4和C22∶6呈下降趋势。结果表明,高脂诱导能使血清中脂肪酸含量发生明显变化,会加重脂肪酸代谢类疾病发展过程。  相似文献

将171只体质量200~250g 7周龄雄性SD大鼠随机分为正常对照组(Ⅰ组,25只)和Ⅱ型糖尿病模型组(Ⅱ组,146只),采用高脂高糖饲料喂养结合STZ腹腔注射的方法建立Ⅱ型糖尿病大鼠动物模型,定期对大鼠体质量、空腹血糖、糖耐量、血清胰岛素及胰腺组织等指标进行检测。结果显示:第42天,与正常对照组相比,模型组大鼠体质量显著升高(P0.05),血糖无明显差异(P0.05),糖耐量曲线下面积增大(P0.05),胰腺外分泌腺内大量脂肪异位沉积;第56天,与正常对照组相比,模型组体质量显著降低(P0.05),血糖、血清胰岛素、胰岛素抵抗指数显著升高(P0.05),糖耐量曲线下面积显著增大(P0.05),胰岛素敏感指数显著降低(P0.05),胰岛减小、减少,胰岛形状不规整,部分胰岛细胞内脂质沉积;模型组成模率70%、死亡率5%、淘汰率25%。结果表明:对SD大鼠采用高脂高糖配方饲料结合低剂量链脲佐菌素腹腔注射可成功制备Ⅱ型糖尿病大鼠动物模型,并具有Ⅱ型糖尿病基本特征胰岛素抵抗及胰岛β细胞轻度损伤同时出现的临床特点,是研究Ⅱ型糖尿病及其新药开发的理想动物模型。  相似文献

文章旨在探讨高脂饲料造模肥胖大鼠胰岛功能、血脂代谢指标的变化及采用耐力训练的干预效果。试验选取8周龄的SD雄性大鼠80只,其中12只采用普通饲料饲喂(空白组),另外68只饲喂高脂饲料进行造模,连续饲喂2周后选取达到肥胖标准的36只分为模型组(高脂饲料饲喂+等量生理盐水灌胃)、干预组(耐力训练+高脂饲料饲喂)、对照组(二甲双胍200 mg/kg·d灌胃+高脂饲料饲喂)各12只,4组大鼠连续饲喂6周,对比体重、血脂指标、血糖、胰岛素、胰岛素抵抗指数(HOMA-IR)、胰岛β细胞功能(HOMA-β)、胰岛炎症程度分级、胰腺组织中Toll 4样蛋白(TLR4)、核转录因子-κB(NF-κB)蛋白的表达。结果表明,0周时,4组大鼠的体重差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)|持续饲喂后,模型组、干预组和对照组大鼠的体重在第2、4、8周时均高于空白组,在第4、8周时均高于干预组和对照组(P<0.05)|在第8周时,模型组、干预组和对照组大鼠的血清TG、TC、LDL-C均高于空白组,血清HDL-C水平低于空白组(P<0.05),模型组的血清TG、TC、LDL-C均高于干预组和对照组(P<0.05)|在第8周时,模型组、干预组和对照组大鼠的血糖、胰岛素、HOMA-IR值均高于空白组,HOMA-β值均低于空白组(P<0.05)|模型组大鼠的血糖、胰岛素、HOMA-IR值均高于干预组和对照组,HOMA-β值均低于干预组和对照组(P<0.05)|干预组大鼠的血糖、胰岛素、HOMA-IR值均高于对照组,HOMA-β值低于对照组(P<0.05)|在第8周时,模型组、干预组和对照组大鼠的胰腺炎症程度评分均高于空白组,HOMA-β值均低于空白组(P<0.05)|模型组大鼠的胰腺炎症程度评分高于干预组和对照组(P<0.05)|干预组大鼠胰腺炎症程度评分高于对照组(P<0.05)|在第8周时,模型组、干预组和对照组大鼠的胰腺组织中TLR4蛋白、NF-κB蛋白表达空白组(P<0.05)|模型组大鼠胰腺组织中TLR4蛋白、NF-κB蛋白表达高于干预组和对照组(P<0.05)|干预组大鼠胰腺组织中TLR4蛋白、NF-κB蛋白表达高于对照组(P<0.05)。结论 高脂饲料造模肥胖大鼠能成功引起大鼠肥胖,并对其胰腺功能造成一定的伤害,采用耐力运动训练能在一定程度上改善高脂饲料引起的肥胖,改善大鼠的胰岛细胞功能。 [关键词]高脂饲料|肥胖大鼠|胰岛功能|血脂代谢|耐力训练  相似文献

SD大鼠2型糖尿病动物模型的建立及胰腺组织SUR1 mRNA的表达   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
[目的]链脲佐菌素(streptozotocin,STZ)结合高糖高脂饮食诱导建立2型糖尿病大鼠模型,检测体重、血糖、胰岛素、胰岛素敏感指数(ISI)、胰腺组织SUR1 mRNA表达的变化。[方法]30只健康雄性SD大鼠随机分为模型组(20只)、空白组(10只)。模型组喂饲高糖高脂饲料4周后,用STZ 30mg/(kg·bw)一次性左下腹腔注射。检测注射STZ后第1周、第4周、第8周、第12周空腹体重、血糖、胰岛素、胰岛素敏感指数等指标,进行统计分析。剖杀大鼠,取胰腺,RT-PCR方法检测胰腺组织SUR1 mRNA的表达。[结果]动物成模率为75%。注射STZ后1、4、8、12周,模型组血糖值均明显升高,与空白组比较,P〈0.01;ISI均明显降低,与空白组比较,P〈0.01。模型组SUR1 mRNA表达显著低于对照组(P〈0.05)。[结论]STZ一次性左下腹腔注射结合高糖高脂饮食可成功诱导2型糖尿病大鼠模型。SUR1 mRNA的降低可能是糖尿病发病的分子机制之一。  相似文献

柞树叶水提物对Ⅱ型糖尿病模型小鼠的治疗作用   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
采用高糖高脂膳食加链脲佐菌素诱导制作Ⅱ型糖尿病模型小鼠,研究柞树叶水提物调节糖尿病模型小鼠血糖浓度、改善生命体征和减轻脏器损伤的作用。与模型对照组相比,按照5、15、30 mg/(kg·d)3种剂量灌胃给予柞树叶水提物的糖尿病模型小鼠的体征均有所改善,饮水和摄食量减少,且呈剂量依赖性;试验第4周,3种剂量给药治疗组糖尿病模型小鼠的空腹血糖浓度均显著或极显著降低,胰岛素敏感指数(ISI)显著升高,血清胰岛素(INS)和胰岛素受体β(IRS-β)浓度未见明显变化;3种剂量给药治疗组小鼠肝组织病理变化程度明显减轻,以30 mg/(kg·d)剂量给药治疗组效果最佳。试验结果提示,柞树叶水提物可能通过提高受体对胰岛素的敏感性,改善胰岛素抵抗而发挥降血糖作用,并使肝损伤明显减轻。  相似文献

根据小鼠的体质量,以不同剂量经口连续染毒纳米氧化锌,90d后摘眼球取血,对血脂、血糖、肝脏抗氧化指标进行检测。结果显示:对照组、80mg/kg剂量组小鼠血糖显著高于160mg/kg剂量组(P<0.05)。对照组、80mg/kg剂量组小鼠血糖极显著高于40mg/kg剂量组(P<0.01);40,80 mg/kg剂量组小鼠血脂含量显著高于对照组(P<0.05),160mg/kg剂量组小鼠血脂含量极显著高于对照组(P<0.01);40,160 mg/kg剂量组小鼠血清总胆固醇含量显著高于对照组(P<0.05);40mg/kg剂量组小鼠血清低密度脂蛋白含量显著高于对照组、80mg/kg剂量组(P<0.05),各组间血清高密度脂蛋白含量无显著差异;80,160mg/kg剂量组小鼠肝脏过氧化氢酶活性显著高于对照组、40mg/kg剂量组(P<0.05),80mg/kg剂量组小鼠肝脏过氧化氢酶活性极显著高于40 mg/kg剂量组(P<0.01);40,80mg/kg剂量组小鼠肝脏Cu-Zn SOD活性显著高于对照组(P<0.05);160 mg/kg剂量组小鼠肝脏抑制羟自由基能力显著低于对照组、40mg/kg剂量组及80mg/kg剂量组(P<0.05);随染毒剂量增加,小鼠肝脏MDA含量增加,但各组间含量差异不显著;随染毒剂量增加,小鼠肝脏谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶活性提高;但各组间活性差异不显著。各组间肝脏H2O2含量、总SOD活性无显著性差异。病理学检查发现,大脑细胞存在噬神经现象,脾脏红髓与白髓的界限不清晰;肺泡壁增厚,局部炎性细胞浸润,曲精小管间的间隙增大,生精细胞排列紊乱、脱落。结果表明:经口连续染毒纳米氧化锌90d能影响雄性小鼠肝脏抗氧化系统,导致小鼠糖、脂代谢紊乱,引起高脂血症,纳米氧化锌对雄性小鼠具有神经毒性及生殖毒性。  相似文献

为研究猫须草叶提取物(OS)对高脂饮食诱导小鼠肾损伤的调控作用,选择60只雄性小鼠,随机分为对照组(基础饲料)、模型组(高脂饲料)、高剂量组(高脂饲料+500mg/kgOS)、中剂量组(高脂饲料+100 mg/kg OS)和低剂量组(高脂饲料+50 mg/kg OS),每组12只。8周试验期结束后,检测小鼠的肾脏指数,血清中甘油三酯(TG)、总胆固醇(TC)、高密度脂蛋白胆固醇(HDL-C)、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-C)含量,以及小鼠肾组织中超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(GSH-Px)活性及丙二醛(MDA)含量。通过HE染色观察小鼠肾脏病理学改变。结果表明:与模型组相比,高剂量组小鼠肾小体和肾小管结构更为规则、清晰,肾脏指数显著下降(P0.05),肾脏损伤明显减轻。血清中TG、TC、LDL-C含量显著降低,HDL-C含量显著升高(P0.05)。肾组织匀浆中SOD、GSH-Px活性显著升高,MDA含量显著降低(P0.05)。由此看出,高剂量(500 mg/kg)OS能够较好地降低高脂饮食造成的小鼠肾损伤,这与高剂量OS明显降低了小鼠体内高血脂和氧化应激水平有很大关系,为猫须草副产物动物饲料添加剂的开发提供参考。  相似文献

为探究可溶性环氧化物水解酶抑制剂(soluble epoxide hydrolase inhibitors,sEHI)的降血糖功效,试验以高脂饲料与链脲佐菌素(streptozotocin,STZ)联合诱导的Ⅱ型糖尿病小鼠为研究对象,将C57BL/6J小鼠随机分为:正常对照组、糖尿病模型组和sEHI组,sEHI组饲喂高脂饲料,每日灌胃sEHI (t-AUCB)1 mg/kg,连续灌胃4周;糖尿病模型组饲喂高脂饲料,每日灌胃同等计量的生理盐水;正常对照组饲喂普通饲料,每日灌胃同等体积的生理盐水。期间各组小鼠均自由采食及饮水,记录小鼠体重、血糖并进行口服葡萄糖耐量试验。试验结束后,测定血清血脂指标、肝脏过氧化指标并对小鼠胰岛组织进行病理学分析。结果显示,与糖尿病模型组相比,采用sEHI干预后糖尿病小鼠的空腹血糖显著降低(P<0.05),而葡萄糖耐量水平升高;小鼠血清总胆固醇(TC)、甘油三酯(TG)、低密度脂蛋白(LDL)水平明显降低,其中TC、TG水平与糖尿病模型组相比差异显著(P<0.05),而高密度脂蛋白与胆固醇比值(HDL/TC)水平则显著升高(P<0.05);与糖尿病模型组相比,sEHI干预组小鼠肝脏的超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性显著提高(P<0.05),丙二醛(MDA)活性显著降低(P<0.05);小鼠的胰岛组织切片分析结果表明,sEHI对小鼠胰岛组织有明显的修复作用。综上所述,sEHI具有降血糖、减轻自由基损伤、抑制脂质过氧化、修复受损胰岛组织的作用。  相似文献

试验选用96头平均体重14.82 kg左右的杜×长×大断奶仔猪,随机分成4组,每组3栏,每栏8头(公母各半)。对照组饲喂基础日粮,试验1、2、3组分别添加1%80目白术、0.2%白术多糖和1%微米白术。试验期30 d。结果表明:在生长性能方面,与对照组相比,1%微米白术添加组可显著提高日增重(P0.05)、降低饲料增重比和腹泻率,而且效果优于1%80目白术组和0.2%白术多糖组,在肠道形态和肠道微生态区系方面,与对照组相比,日粮添加1%80目白术、0.2%白术多糖、1%微米白术均可不同程度的提高十二指肠和空肠的绒毛高度,加深十二指肠和空肠的隐窝深度,并且增加肠道微生态区系的多样性,其中以1%微米白术添加组的效果最佳。  相似文献

Sissay, M.M., Uggla, A. and Waller, P.J., XXXX. Prevalence and seasonal incidence of nematode parasites and fluke infections of sheep and goats in eastern Ethiopia. Tropical Animal Health and Production, XXXX. A 2-year abattoir survey was carried out to determine the prevalence, abundance and seasonal incidence of gastro-intestinal (GI) nematodes and trematodes (flukes) of sheep and goats in the semi-arid zone of eastern Ethiopia. During May 2003 to April 2005, viscera including liver, lungs and GI tracts were collected from 655 sheep and 632 goats slaughtered at 4 abattoirs located in the towns of Haramaya, Harar, Dire Dawa and Jijiga in eastern Ethiopia. All animals were raised in the farming areas located within the community boundaries for each town. Collected materials were transported within 24 h to the parasitology laboratory of Haramaya University for immediate processing. Thirteen species belonging to 9 genera of GI nematodes (Haemonchus contortus, Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis, T. vitrinus, Nematodirus filicollis, N. spathiger, Oesophagostomum columbianum, O. venulosum, Strongyloides papillosus, Bunostomum trigonocephalum, Trichuris ovis, Cooperia curticei and Chabertia ovina), and 4 species belonging to 3 genera of trematodes (Fasciola hepatica, F. gigantica, Paramphistomum {Calicohoron} microbothrium and Dicrocoelium dendriticum) were recorded in both sheep and goats. All animals in this investigation were infected with multiple species to varying degrees. The mean burdens of adult nematodes were generally moderate in both sheep and goats and showed patterns of seasonal abundance that corresponded with the bi-modal annual rainfall pattern, with highest burdens around the middle of the rainy season. In both sheep and goats there were significant differences in the mean worm burdens and abundance of the different nematode species between the four geographic locations, with worm burdens in the Haramaya and Harar areas greater than those observed in the Dire Dawa and Jijiga locations. Similar seasonal variations were also observed in the prevalence of flukes. But there were no significant differences in the prevalence of each fluke species between the four locations. Overall, the results showed that Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Fasciola and Paramphistomum species were the most abundant helminth parasites of sheep and goats in eastern Ethiopia.  相似文献

1-(2-Chloroethyl)3-cyclohexyl-1-nitrosourea (CCNU) is an alkylating agent in the nitrosourea subclass. A prospective evaluation of CCNU was done to determine the maximally tolerated dosage of CCNU in tumor-bearing cats. Response data were obtained when available. Twenty-five cats were treated with CCNU at a dosage of 50-60 mg/m3 body surface area. Complete hematologic data were available for 13 cats. Neutropenia was the acute dose-limiting toxicity. The median neutrophil count at the nadir was 1,000 cells/microL (mean, 2,433 cells/microL; range, 0-9,694 cells/microL). The time of neutrophil nadir was variable, occurring 7-28 days after treatment, and counts sometimes did not return to normal for up to 14 days after the nadir. Based on these findings, a 6-week dosing interval and weekly hematologic monitoring after the 1st treatment with CCNU are recommended. The nadir of the platelet count may occur 14-21 days after treatment. The median platelet count at the nadir was 43,500 cells/microL. No gastrointestinal, renal, or hepatic toxicities were observed after a single CCNU treatment, and additional studies to evaluate the potential for cumulative toxicity should be performed. Five cats with lymphoma and 1 cat with mast cell tumor had measurable responses to CCNU. Phase II studies to evaluate antitumor activity should be completed with a dosing regimen of 50-60 mg/m3 every 6 weeks.  相似文献

Our particular attention in this article was given to natural mediators for macrophages isolated from the sites of tissue injury. A number of chemotactic factors, which may satisfy many criteria making them acceptable as inflammatory leucocyte chemotactic factors, has been separated. Among them, our laboratory has isolated three macrophage (monocyte) chemotactic factors (MCF-a, -b and -c). Their purification, characterization and functional specificity are discussed.  相似文献

Genetic variations in chromosome Y are enabling researchers to identify paternal lineages, which are informative for introgressions and migrations. In this study, the male‐specific region markers, sex‐determining region‐Y (SRY), amelogenin (AMELY) and zinc finger (ZFY) were analysed in seven Turkish native goat breeds, Angora, Kilis, Hair, Honaml?, Norduz, Gürcü and Abaza. A SNP in the ZFY gene defined a new haplotype Y2C. All domestic haplogroups originate from Capra aegagrus, while the finding of Y1A, Y1B, Y2A and Y2C in 32, 4, 126 and 2 Turkish domestic goats, respectively, appears to indicate a predomestic origin of the major haplotypes. The occurrence of four haplotypes in the Hair goat and, in contrast, a frequency of 96% of Y1A in the Kilis breed illustrate that Y‐chromosomal variants have a more breed‐dependent distribution than mitochondrial or autosomal DNA. This probably reflects male founder effects, but a role in adaptation cannot be excluded.  相似文献

Human and equine athletes are reported to have a high prevalence of gastric disease, and anecdotal evidence suggests a similar phenomenon applies to racing sled dogs. To investigate the prevalence of gastric disease in racing sled dogs, we conducted 2 gastroscopy studies on dogs competing in the annual Iditarod Sled Dog Race. A pilot study of dogs that were either dropped from the 2000 Iditarod Sled Dog Race because of illness or that finished the race indicated that, approximately 5 days after competing, 10 of 28 dogs (35%) had endoscopic evidence of gastric ulceration, erosion, or hemorrhage. The next year, an endoscopic study of 73 dogs participating in the 2001 Iditarod race was performed in order to evaluate a larger population of dogs. Data from 70 of these dogs could be used; 34 (48.5%) had ulceration, erosion, gastric hemorrhage, or some combination of these findings. When this group of 70 dogs was compared retrospectively to a control group of 87 dogs presented to the Texas A&M University (TAMU) Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, the Iditarod sled dogs had a significantly higher prevalence (P = .049) of gastric lesions. These findings suggest that, similar to athletes of other species, elite canine athletes have an increased prevalence of gastric disease compared to the canine population at large.  相似文献

Continuous rate infusion (CRI) of furosemide in humans is considered superior to intermittent administration (IA). This study examined whether furosemide CRI, compared with IA, would increase diuretic efficacy with decreased fluid and electrolyte fluctuations and activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) in the horse. Five mares were used in a crossover-design study. During a 24-hour period, each horse received a total of 3 mg/kg furosemide by either CRI (0.12 mg/kg/h preceded by a loading dose of 0.12 mg/kg IV) or IA (1 mg/kg IV q8h). There was not a statistically significant difference in urine volume over 24 hours between methods; however, urine volume was significantly greater after CRI compared with IA during the first 8 hours ([median 25th percentile, 75th percentile]: 9.6 L [8.9, 14.4] for CRI versus 5.9 L [5.3, 6.0] for IA). CRI produced a more uniform urine flow, decreased fluctuations in plasma volume, and suppressed renal concentrating ability throughout the infusion period. Potassium, Ca, and Cl excretion was greater during CRI than IA (1,133 mmol [1.110, 1,229] versus 764 mmol [709, 904], 102.7 mmol [96.0, 117.2] versus 73.3 mmol [65.0, 73.5], and 1,776 mmol [1,657, 2.378] versus 1,596 mmol [1,457, 1,767], respectively). Elimination half-lives of furosemide were 1.35 and 0.47 hours for CRI and IA, respectively. The area under the excretion rate curve was 1,285.7 and 184.2 mL x mg/mL for CRI and IA, respectively. Furosemide CRI (0.12 mg/kg/h) for 8 hours, preceded by a loading dose (0.12 mg/kg), is recommended when profound diuresis is needed acutely in horses.  相似文献

The objective of this report was to characterize 20-year changes in proportion of calcium oxalate (CaOx) calculi and struvite calculi in dogs, and associations with breed, age, and sex. In this retrospective study, results of analysis of urinary calculi from dogs were reviewed for specimens received between July 1, 1981, and December 31, 2001. Breed, sex, age, year of submission of the specimen, and mineral type(s) were analyzed statistically. CaOx or Struvite or both were contained in 18,966 of 20,884 (91%) specimens. For both sexes, a 20-year statistically significant increase was observed in the proportion of calculus specimens that contained CaOx. The increase in this proportion was greater in females (1% to 31%) than in males (18% to 82%). From 1998 to 2001, when proportions may have plateaued, the odds of specimens containing CaOx were markedly higher in 18 breeds, markedly lower in 5 breeds, and not significantly different in 13 breeds compared with crossbreds. For both sexes, a 20-year statistically significant decrease was observed in the proportion of calculus specimens that contained struvite. This decrease in proportion was greater for males (79-16%) than for females (97-68%). From 1998 to 2001, when proportions plateaued, the odds of calculi containing struvite were markedly lower in 20 breeds, markedly higher in 1 breed, and not significantly different in 15 breeds when compared with crossbreds. Breed, age, and sex were associated statistically with CaOx or struvite urolithiasis. In conclusion, there appears to have been a long-term increase in the proportion of specimens of canine urinary calculi that contain CaOx as well as a long-term decrease in the proportion of specimens of calculi that contain struvite for both male and female dogs. The rate of change appeared to begin leveling off in the period 1998 to 2001. The recent proportion of dogs with either CaOx- or struvite-associated urolithiasis may depend on breed, age, and sex, and on interactions among these 3 factors.  相似文献
