为了解促炎、抗炎细胞因子在小鼠LPS致炎模型中的动态变化,探讨中药方剂清温消热饮的抗炎治疗作用,采用酶联免疫法测定112例用LPS致小鼠急性炎症模型治疗过程中血清中促炎因子(TNF-α、IL-1β、PGE2)、抗炎因子(IL-10)含量。与LPS致小鼠急性炎症模型组比较:清温消热饮组在18、24 h血清中IL-1β含量明显降低,差异显著(P0.05);清温消热饮组在6、12、18 h血清中TNF-α含量明显降低,6、18 h差异显著(P0.05),12 h差异极显著(P0.01);清温消热饮组血清中的PGE2含量均低于模型组,在6、18、24、36 h时血清中的PGE2含量明显降低,差异极显著(P0.01);清温消热饮组在18、48 h血清中IL-10含量明显升高,差异极显著(P0.01)。同时,清温消热饮组与地塞米松组在各时间段血清中TNF-α、IL-1β、IL-10、PGE2含量无显著差异(P0.05)。结果表明,清温消热饮在急性炎症模型中能有效降低血清促炎因子TNF-α、IL-1β、PGE2含量水平,提升抗炎因子(IL-10)含量水平以表现出明显的抗炎作用。  相似文献

本研究旨在探索膏芩口服液对内毒素发热小型猪的解热效果及机制。40头试验小型猪,随机分为4组:对照组、模型组、安乃近组、膏芩口服液组,每组10头。采用大肠杆菌内毒素(LPS)80μg.kg-1,连续2次,间隔12 h,腹腔注射攻毒复制试验猪发热模型,第1次攻毒6 h后,对照组和模型组灌服生理盐水;安乃近组注射安乃近;膏芩口服液组灌服膏芩口服液,1次.d-1,连续3 d。分别监测每组6头试验猪的基础体温和攻毒给药后1、3、5、24、30、42、54 h肛温,观察临床症状并评分,并在54 h时,各组试验猪前腔静脉采血,检测血清中TNFα-、IL-1、cAMP、PGE2的含量。结果表明,与模型组相比,膏芩口服液组能显著缓解内毒素所引起的小型猪发热临床症状,降低体温;与对照组相比,模型组中TNF-α、PGE2、cAMP、IL-1显著增加(P<0.05);与模型组相比,膏芩口服液组能显著降低血清TNF-α、PGE2、cAMP含量(P<0.05),但对于IL-1作用不显著(P>0.05)。由此可见,膏芩口服液能明显抑制内毒素所引起的小型猪发热,其解热作用的机制可能与抑制血清细胞因子TNFα-的生成,减少发热介质PGE2和c...  相似文献

为了研究黄芩苷对脂多糖(LPS)诱导后仔猪临床症状及血液学指标的影响,试验选取36头健康仔猪,分为空白对照组、LPS模型组、氟尼辛葡甲胺组、黄芩苷低剂量(25 mg/kg)组、黄芩苷中剂量(50 mg/kg)组和黄芩苷高剂量(100 mg/kg)组。各组猪在注射LPS前0.5 h给药,黄芩苷各剂量组及模型组猪按体重0.1 mg/kg腹腔注射LPS,空白对照组猪注射等量生理盐水,LPS诱导6 h后再给药1次。于注射LPS 3 h后测量各组猪的体温,并统计呕吐、颤抖、嗜睡猪的头数;于注射LPS后第3,24小时对各组猪采血,检测血常规指标和血液生化指标。结果表明:LPS诱导后第3小时,LPS模型组猪出现体温升高、颤抖、呕吐和嗜睡等临床症状,黄芪苷各剂量组猪的体温较LPS模型组均显著降低(P0.05),猪的呕吐和嗜睡症状减轻;LPS诱导后第3小时,与空白对照组比,LPS模型组白细胞数和血小板总数均极显著降低(P0.01);与LPS模型组比,黄芩苷中剂量组白细胞数极显著升高(P0.01)。LPS诱导后第24小时,与空白对照组比,LPS模型组白细胞数极显著升高(P0.01),血小板总数极显著降低(P0.01);与LPS模型组比,黄芩苷中剂量组血小板总数显著升高(P0.05)。LPS诱导后第3小时,与空白对照组比,LPS模型组总胆红素、肌酐、总蛋白、白蛋白和血糖含量出现显著或极显著变化(P0.05或P0.01);与LPS模型组比,黄芩苷中剂量组肌酐含量显著降低(P0.05);LPS诱导后第24小时,与空白对照组比,LPS模型组总胆红素含量、天门冬氨酸氨基转移酶活性、肌酐和血糖含量出现显著或极显著变化(P0.05或P0.01)。与LPS模型组比,黄芩苷低剂量组和中剂量组能极显著(P0.01)和显著(P0.05)降低总胆红素含量。说明50 mg/kg黄芩苷肌肉注射给药可以有效缓解LPS刺激导致的仔猪体温升高、白细胞数异常变化、血小板总数降低及肝脏和肾脏功能的损伤。  相似文献

旨在研究α-黑色素细胞刺激素(α-melanocyte stimulating hormone,α-MSH)对泰和乌骨鸡皮肤黑色素细胞增殖和黑色素生成的影响,初步探讨α-MSH调控泰和乌骨鸡黑色素合成的机制。利用体外培养的乌骨鸡皮肤黑色素细胞,观察不同质量浓度α-MSH(0、2.5、5、10 mg/L)及其拮抗剂([D-Trp7,Ala8,D-Phe10]α-MSH(6-11)-amide,D-AD-MSH)处理后黑色素细胞增殖、黑素皮质素受体1(melanocortin 1receptor,MC1R)基因表达、酪氨酸酶(tyrosinase,TYR)活性、环磷酸腺苷(cyclic adenosine monophosphate,cAMP)含量和黑色素含量的变化。结果表明,不同质量浓度的α-MSH对细胞有促增殖的作用,2.5mg/Lα-MSH处理组细胞的增殖率极显著高于不添加α-MSH的对照组(P0.01)。α-MSH剂量依赖性地提高MC1R基因表达。2.5mg/Lα-MSH处理组细胞cAMP的含量显著高于对照组(P0.05),其他处理组之间差异不显著(P0.05)。不同浓度的α-MSH处理均极显著提高细胞TYR活性(P0.01或P0.05)。与对照组相比,2.5mg/Lα-MSH极显著提高皮肤黑色素细胞的黑色素含量(P0.01),5、10.0mg/Lα-MSH具有提高黑色素细胞黑色素含量的趋势(P0.05)。α-MSH拮抗剂D-A-D-MSH预处理乌骨鸡皮肤黑色素细胞显著抑制α-MSH对黑色素细胞MC1R基因表达、cAMP含量、TYR活性和黑色素含量的上调作用(P0.05)。α-MSH能促进泰和乌骨鸡皮肤黑色素细胞增殖,提高MC1R基因表达、cAMP含量以及TYR活性并进而促进黑色素合成。  相似文献

研究复合制剂对猪下丘脑环磷酸腺苷和精氨酸加压素的影响,剖析复合制剂对体温的双向调节作用,探讨复合制剂发挥解热、促进机体散热的机理。在试验的第1、3、6、10天,将每组中的4头猪麻醉宰杀,断头取脑,取出下丘脑,测定下丘脑组织cAMP和AVP的含量。结果表明:高温组AVP在试验的第3、6、10天显著降低(P0.05),复合制剂组在试验的第6、10天比高温组显著升高(P0.05);高温组cAMP含量在试验的第10天显著升高(P0.05),而复合制剂组在试验的第10天比高温组显著降低(P0.05)。持续高温刺激下cAMP含量增加,维持高体温促进机体散热,复合制剂具有缓解作用。  相似文献

试验旨在研究黑沙蒿水提物(AOE)对肉仔鸡小肠黏膜形态及免疫指标的影响。试验分为3组,空白组和对照组饲喂基础饲粮,试验组在基础饲粮中添加1 000 mg/kg AOE。第14、16、18 d时,对照组及试验组肉仔鸡腹腔注射脂多糖LPS(500μg/kg),空白组注射等量生理盐水。结果表明:21 d时,与空白组相比,LPS刺激显著降低了十二指肠绒毛高度(P0.05);试验组饲粮中添加AOE缓解了因LPS刺激导致的十二指肠绒毛高度的下降,其他指标各组间差异不显著(P0.05)。28 d时,试验组十二指肠绒毛高度及绒毛高度和隐窝深度的比值(绒隐比)显著高于对照组(P0.05),试验组空肠隐窝深度显著低于对照组(P0.05),其他指标各组间差异不显著(P0.05)。与空白组相比,LPS刺激导致十二指肠IL-2含量显著下降(P0.05),且IgM和IL-4含量也呈下降趋势(0.05P0.10);试验组饲粮中添加AOE降低了因LPS刺激引起的IL-2、IL-4和IgM含量下降的幅度;与空白组相比,对照组空肠IgG、回肠IgM(0.05P0.10)和IL-4(P0.05)的含量下降;试验组饲粮中添加AOE缓解了由LPS刺激导致的空肠IgG、回肠IgM和IL-4含量的下降,其他指标各组间差异不显著(P0.05)。综上所述,饲喂AOE对LPS刺激的肉仔鸡小肠黏膜形态有改善作用,可缓解因LPS刺激造成的肠黏膜损伤,增强肉仔鸡小肠的免疫能力。  相似文献

试验旨在探讨牛膝多糖(ABPS)对脂多糖(LPS)刺激的断奶仔猪生长性能、炎性介质和内分泌激素的影响。选用48头(28±3)d(8.45±0.14)kg的杜洛克×长白×大白断奶仔猪,采用2×2因子设计,包括日粮处理(0或500 mg/kg ABPS)和免疫应激(注射LPS或生理盐水)。试验期28 d。在第14天和第21天,每日粮组一半的猪注射100μg/kg BW的LPS,另一半注射生理盐水作对照。注射后3 h,采血测定血浆肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、前列腺素E2(PGE2)、皮质醇、生长激素(GH)和类胰岛素生长因子-I(IGF-I)含量。结果表明:LPS刺激显著降低了第14~21、22~28天的日增重(ADG)和日采食量(ADFI)(P<0.05或P=0.05);ABPS显著提高了22~28 d的ADG(P<0.05)。LPS刺激显著提高了14 d和21 d的TNF-α、PGE2和皮质醇的含量,降低了IGF-I的含量(P<0.01);ABPS显著缓解了LPS刺激导致的TNF-α(14 d和21 d)和皮质醇(14 d)含量的上升以及IGF-I(14 d和21 d)含量的下降(P<0.05)。说明ABPS缓解了免疫应激仔猪生长的抑制,其机制可能与其抑制了炎性介质的分泌有关。  相似文献

本试验旨在探讨褪黑素(MT)对脂多糖(LPS)诱导的奶牛乳腺上皮细胞(BMECs)炎症反应的缓解作用及潜在机制。利用不同浓度(0.1、0.5、1.0、5.0和10.0μg/mL)的LPS处理BMECs 6和12 h后,通过测定BMECs活性和炎性细胞因子[肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、白细胞介素-1β(IL-1β)和白细胞介素-6(IL-6)]含量,确定10μg/mL的LPS诱导12 h用于正式试验。正式试验共设7组,每组设4个重复。对照组BMECs不进行LPS诱导和MT处理,LPS组BMECs进行LPS诱导12 h,LPS+MT组BMECs进行LPS诱导12 h后再经不同浓度(1、5、10、50和100μmol/L)MT处理48 h。结果表明:1)与对照组相比,LPS组BMECs中TNF-α含量升高(P 0.05), BMECs中IL-6和IL-1β含量显著升高(P 0.05)。与LPS组相比,10和50μmol/L MT组BMECs中TNF-α含量显著降低(P 0.05),1、5、10和100μmol/L MT组BMECs中IL-6含量显著降低(P0.05),10μmol/L MT组BMECs中IL-1β含量显著降低(P0.05)。2)与对照组相比,LPS组BMECs中Toll样受体4(TLR4)蛋白表达量升高(P0.05),BMECs中核因子-κB同源蛋白(P65)和核因子-κB抑制蛋白-α(IκB-α)蛋白表达量显著降低(P0.05)。与LPS组相比,50和100μmol/L MT组BMECs中TLR4蛋白表达量显著降低(P0.05),1、10和50μmol/L MT组BMECs中P65蛋白表达量显著或极显著升高(P0.05或P0.01),1、5、10和50μmol/L MT组BMECs中IκB-α蛋白表达量显著或极显著升高(P0.05或P0.01)。由此可见,MT能够降低LPS诱导的BMECs中TNF-α、IL-1β和IL-6含量,调控LPS诱导的BMECs中TLR4、P65和IκB-α蛋白表达量,MT可能通过参与核因子-κB炎症通路缓解LPS诱导的BMECs炎症反应。  相似文献

以秦皮为主药,瞿麦为辅药,探讨纯中药制剂抗炎作用机制。选用Wistsar种清洁级雄性大白鼠60只,体质量(216±2.8)g,随机分为4组,除空白对照组外,用10%乙酸造成溃疡性结肠炎(Ulcerative colitis,UC)。采用酶联免疫分析法(ELISA)测定了正常、造模及治疗后1、3、7d大白鼠血清中前列腺素E2(Prostandin,PGE2)、白介素-1(interleukin-1,IL-1)和肿瘤坏死因子(tumor necrosis factor,TNF-α)的水平;同时,采用放射免疫分析法检测了UC模型大鼠结肠黏膜组织中环磷酸腺苷(Cyclic adenosine monophosphate,cAMP)含量的变化,探讨抗炎作用机制。结果显示,在大鼠患UC时,血清中PGE2、IL-1和TNF-α明显升高,黏膜组织中cAMP显著降低(与空白对照组比较,P0.01);该方治疗后,大鼠UC模型血清中PGE2、IL-1和TNF-α的含量显著降低,cAMP含量显著升高(与模型对照组比较,P0.01)。结果表明,该方剂抑制结肠黏膜组织促炎因子的释放和提高cAMP含量是其抗炎作用机制之一。  相似文献

双氢青蒿素对脂多糖诱导的断奶仔猪肝氧化应激的影响   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
为了研究双氢青蒿素(DHA)对断奶仔猪氧化应激的影响,通过脂多糖(LPS)诱导的方法建立了氧化应激模型。选用健康的断奶仔猪30头,随机分成对照组(CON)、模型组(LPS)和处理组(LD,LPS+DHA),每组10个重复。CON组和LPS组饲喂基础日粮,LD组饲喂基础日粮+80 mg·kg~(-1) DHA。各组饲喂相应日粮21 d。在宰前4 h对LPS组和LD组按照体重腹腔注射100μg·kg~(-1) LPS,CON组注射相同剂量的无菌生理盐水。结果显示,与CON组相比,LPS组肝中丙二醛(MDA)、蛋白质羰基(PC)、8羟基脱氧鸟苷(8-OHdG)和过氧化氢(H_2O_2)含量显著升高(P0.05)。同时,LPS组肝中总抗氧化能力(T-AOC)、过氧化氢酶(CAT)、谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(GPx)活力和还原型谷胱甘肽(GSH)含量显著降低(P0.05)。与LPS组相比,LD组中MDA、PC、8-OHdG和H_2O_2含量显著降低(P0.05),CAT、T-AOC和GPx的活力显著提高(P0.05)。另外,与CON组相比,LPS组肝中核因子E2相关因子2(Nrf2)和CAT的mRNA表达量以及Nrf2和血红素加氧酶1(HO-1)的蛋白表达量均显著降低(P0.05)。DHA处理可显著(P0.05)逆转LPS引起的上述变化。结果表明,DHA可能通过Nrf2/ARE信号通路的调节来缓解由LPS引起的断奶仔猪氧化应激,本研究可为畜牧生产中减少氧化应激提供一定的理论依据。  相似文献

试验选用96头平均体重14.82 kg左右的杜×长×大断奶仔猪,随机分成4组,每组3栏,每栏8头(公母各半)。对照组饲喂基础日粮,试验1、2、3组分别添加1%80目白术、0.2%白术多糖和1%微米白术。试验期30 d。结果表明:在生长性能方面,与对照组相比,1%微米白术添加组可显著提高日增重(P0.05)、降低饲料增重比和腹泻率,而且效果优于1%80目白术组和0.2%白术多糖组,在肠道形态和肠道微生态区系方面,与对照组相比,日粮添加1%80目白术、0.2%白术多糖、1%微米白术均可不同程度的提高十二指肠和空肠的绒毛高度,加深十二指肠和空肠的隐窝深度,并且增加肠道微生态区系的多样性,其中以1%微米白术添加组的效果最佳。  相似文献

Sissay, M.M., Uggla, A. and Waller, P.J., XXXX. Prevalence and seasonal incidence of nematode parasites and fluke infections of sheep and goats in eastern Ethiopia. Tropical Animal Health and Production, XXXX. A 2-year abattoir survey was carried out to determine the prevalence, abundance and seasonal incidence of gastro-intestinal (GI) nematodes and trematodes (flukes) of sheep and goats in the semi-arid zone of eastern Ethiopia. During May 2003 to April 2005, viscera including liver, lungs and GI tracts were collected from 655 sheep and 632 goats slaughtered at 4 abattoirs located in the towns of Haramaya, Harar, Dire Dawa and Jijiga in eastern Ethiopia. All animals were raised in the farming areas located within the community boundaries for each town. Collected materials were transported within 24 h to the parasitology laboratory of Haramaya University for immediate processing. Thirteen species belonging to 9 genera of GI nematodes (Haemonchus contortus, Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis, T. vitrinus, Nematodirus filicollis, N. spathiger, Oesophagostomum columbianum, O. venulosum, Strongyloides papillosus, Bunostomum trigonocephalum, Trichuris ovis, Cooperia curticei and Chabertia ovina), and 4 species belonging to 3 genera of trematodes (Fasciola hepatica, F. gigantica, Paramphistomum {Calicohoron} microbothrium and Dicrocoelium dendriticum) were recorded in both sheep and goats. All animals in this investigation were infected with multiple species to varying degrees. The mean burdens of adult nematodes were generally moderate in both sheep and goats and showed patterns of seasonal abundance that corresponded with the bi-modal annual rainfall pattern, with highest burdens around the middle of the rainy season. In both sheep and goats there were significant differences in the mean worm burdens and abundance of the different nematode species between the four geographic locations, with worm burdens in the Haramaya and Harar areas greater than those observed in the Dire Dawa and Jijiga locations. Similar seasonal variations were also observed in the prevalence of flukes. But there were no significant differences in the prevalence of each fluke species between the four locations. Overall, the results showed that Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Fasciola and Paramphistomum species were the most abundant helminth parasites of sheep and goats in eastern Ethiopia.  相似文献

1-(2-Chloroethyl)3-cyclohexyl-1-nitrosourea (CCNU) is an alkylating agent in the nitrosourea subclass. A prospective evaluation of CCNU was done to determine the maximally tolerated dosage of CCNU in tumor-bearing cats. Response data were obtained when available. Twenty-five cats were treated with CCNU at a dosage of 50-60 mg/m3 body surface area. Complete hematologic data were available for 13 cats. Neutropenia was the acute dose-limiting toxicity. The median neutrophil count at the nadir was 1,000 cells/microL (mean, 2,433 cells/microL; range, 0-9,694 cells/microL). The time of neutrophil nadir was variable, occurring 7-28 days after treatment, and counts sometimes did not return to normal for up to 14 days after the nadir. Based on these findings, a 6-week dosing interval and weekly hematologic monitoring after the 1st treatment with CCNU are recommended. The nadir of the platelet count may occur 14-21 days after treatment. The median platelet count at the nadir was 43,500 cells/microL. No gastrointestinal, renal, or hepatic toxicities were observed after a single CCNU treatment, and additional studies to evaluate the potential for cumulative toxicity should be performed. Five cats with lymphoma and 1 cat with mast cell tumor had measurable responses to CCNU. Phase II studies to evaluate antitumor activity should be completed with a dosing regimen of 50-60 mg/m3 every 6 weeks.  相似文献

Our particular attention in this article was given to natural mediators for macrophages isolated from the sites of tissue injury. A number of chemotactic factors, which may satisfy many criteria making them acceptable as inflammatory leucocyte chemotactic factors, has been separated. Among them, our laboratory has isolated three macrophage (monocyte) chemotactic factors (MCF-a, -b and -c). Their purification, characterization and functional specificity are discussed.  相似文献

Human and equine athletes are reported to have a high prevalence of gastric disease, and anecdotal evidence suggests a similar phenomenon applies to racing sled dogs. To investigate the prevalence of gastric disease in racing sled dogs, we conducted 2 gastroscopy studies on dogs competing in the annual Iditarod Sled Dog Race. A pilot study of dogs that were either dropped from the 2000 Iditarod Sled Dog Race because of illness or that finished the race indicated that, approximately 5 days after competing, 10 of 28 dogs (35%) had endoscopic evidence of gastric ulceration, erosion, or hemorrhage. The next year, an endoscopic study of 73 dogs participating in the 2001 Iditarod race was performed in order to evaluate a larger population of dogs. Data from 70 of these dogs could be used; 34 (48.5%) had ulceration, erosion, gastric hemorrhage, or some combination of these findings. When this group of 70 dogs was compared retrospectively to a control group of 87 dogs presented to the Texas A&M University (TAMU) Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, the Iditarod sled dogs had a significantly higher prevalence (P = .049) of gastric lesions. These findings suggest that, similar to athletes of other species, elite canine athletes have an increased prevalence of gastric disease compared to the canine population at large.  相似文献

Genetic variations in chromosome Y are enabling researchers to identify paternal lineages, which are informative for introgressions and migrations. In this study, the male‐specific region markers, sex‐determining region‐Y (SRY), amelogenin (AMELY) and zinc finger (ZFY) were analysed in seven Turkish native goat breeds, Angora, Kilis, Hair, Honaml?, Norduz, Gürcü and Abaza. A SNP in the ZFY gene defined a new haplotype Y2C. All domestic haplogroups originate from Capra aegagrus, while the finding of Y1A, Y1B, Y2A and Y2C in 32, 4, 126 and 2 Turkish domestic goats, respectively, appears to indicate a predomestic origin of the major haplotypes. The occurrence of four haplotypes in the Hair goat and, in contrast, a frequency of 96% of Y1A in the Kilis breed illustrate that Y‐chromosomal variants have a more breed‐dependent distribution than mitochondrial or autosomal DNA. This probably reflects male founder effects, but a role in adaptation cannot be excluded.  相似文献

Continuous rate infusion (CRI) of furosemide in humans is considered superior to intermittent administration (IA). This study examined whether furosemide CRI, compared with IA, would increase diuretic efficacy with decreased fluid and electrolyte fluctuations and activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) in the horse. Five mares were used in a crossover-design study. During a 24-hour period, each horse received a total of 3 mg/kg furosemide by either CRI (0.12 mg/kg/h preceded by a loading dose of 0.12 mg/kg IV) or IA (1 mg/kg IV q8h). There was not a statistically significant difference in urine volume over 24 hours between methods; however, urine volume was significantly greater after CRI compared with IA during the first 8 hours ([median 25th percentile, 75th percentile]: 9.6 L [8.9, 14.4] for CRI versus 5.9 L [5.3, 6.0] for IA). CRI produced a more uniform urine flow, decreased fluctuations in plasma volume, and suppressed renal concentrating ability throughout the infusion period. Potassium, Ca, and Cl excretion was greater during CRI than IA (1,133 mmol [1.110, 1,229] versus 764 mmol [709, 904], 102.7 mmol [96.0, 117.2] versus 73.3 mmol [65.0, 73.5], and 1,776 mmol [1,657, 2.378] versus 1,596 mmol [1,457, 1,767], respectively). Elimination half-lives of furosemide were 1.35 and 0.47 hours for CRI and IA, respectively. The area under the excretion rate curve was 1,285.7 and 184.2 mL x mg/mL for CRI and IA, respectively. Furosemide CRI (0.12 mg/kg/h) for 8 hours, preceded by a loading dose (0.12 mg/kg), is recommended when profound diuresis is needed acutely in horses.  相似文献

The objective of this report was to characterize 20-year changes in proportion of calcium oxalate (CaOx) calculi and struvite calculi in dogs, and associations with breed, age, and sex. In this retrospective study, results of analysis of urinary calculi from dogs were reviewed for specimens received between July 1, 1981, and December 31, 2001. Breed, sex, age, year of submission of the specimen, and mineral type(s) were analyzed statistically. CaOx or Struvite or both were contained in 18,966 of 20,884 (91%) specimens. For both sexes, a 20-year statistically significant increase was observed in the proportion of calculus specimens that contained CaOx. The increase in this proportion was greater in females (1% to 31%) than in males (18% to 82%). From 1998 to 2001, when proportions may have plateaued, the odds of specimens containing CaOx were markedly higher in 18 breeds, markedly lower in 5 breeds, and not significantly different in 13 breeds compared with crossbreds. For both sexes, a 20-year statistically significant decrease was observed in the proportion of calculus specimens that contained struvite. This decrease in proportion was greater for males (79-16%) than for females (97-68%). From 1998 to 2001, when proportions plateaued, the odds of calculi containing struvite were markedly lower in 20 breeds, markedly higher in 1 breed, and not significantly different in 15 breeds when compared with crossbreds. Breed, age, and sex were associated statistically with CaOx or struvite urolithiasis. In conclusion, there appears to have been a long-term increase in the proportion of specimens of canine urinary calculi that contain CaOx as well as a long-term decrease in the proportion of specimens of calculi that contain struvite for both male and female dogs. The rate of change appeared to begin leveling off in the period 1998 to 2001. The recent proportion of dogs with either CaOx- or struvite-associated urolithiasis may depend on breed, age, and sex, and on interactions among these 3 factors.  相似文献
